John Barrowman says exposing his genitalia on Doctor Who set was 'tomfoolery'

John Barrowman has acknowledged claims that he had flashed his genitalia on numerous occasions during his time spent on the Doctor Who set.

The 54-year-old BBC star has now put his hands up to confess to his questionable antics during his time spent on the programme.

His actions came to light recently, after an old clip from 2015 surfaced online that saw Noel Clarke cracking jokes about his behaviour.

The star, who is embroiled in sexual misconduct accusations himself, quipped that the Capt Jack Harkness actor exposed his private parts “every five seconds” along with “hitting it on everything” in the process.

Having now understood that he had upset many peers on the show with his explicit nature, he was forced to say sorry.

The statement of apology, that was shared with the Guardian, read: “With the benefit of hindsight, I understand that upset may have been caused by my exuberant behaviour and I have apologised for this previously.

“Since my apology in November 2008, my understanding and behaviour have also changed.”

John claims that his “high-spirited behaviour” was nothing more than “tomfoolery” and was only ever intended to raise a smile.

His apology lands swiftly after allegations of sexual harassment were pointed in Noel Clarke’s direction.

It has been claimed that Noel’s conduct on set was questionable, with the star making crude comments about pulling girls’ hair.

Noel enjoyed a five-year career on the show from 2005, playing the vehicle technician Mickey Smith.

After 20 women had shared claims of sexual misconduct against the actor for making suggestive and vulgar comments, Sky, ITV and BBC all came to the same conclusion that he would be cut loose from each network.

According to recent reports, very serious allegation had amounted against Noel, including sexual harassment, groping and bullying.

The TV star has “vehemently” denied all claims of sexual misconduct and will now be looking to the professionals for help.

He also apologised “deeply” to those he had offended for his past actions.

According to the Guardian, this has meant that questions are now also being raised surrounding BBC’s lax on-set culture during the 2000s.
