Karren Brady has opened up about how she “begged” her two kids to have their Covid-19 vaccines to protect them against coronavirus.
The popular no-nonsense star from The Apprentice has two children – daughter Sophia and son Paolo, from her marriage to husband Paul Peschisolido.
In her regular column for The Sun, the 52-year-old mum revealed that her two kids “flatly refuse” to consider taking the potentially lifesaving vaccination.
She also revealed that she has tried to convince them more than once.
In her column, the businesswoman writes: “They believe under-30s will have blood clots if they take AstraZeneca or heart problems if they have the Pfizer, problems with fertility, periods and almost everything else they have read that might happen to 0.000001 per cent of people who have the vaccine,
“But that fear is based on rumour, not on reliable evidence
“But even though I can trot out all the evidence, there is only so much a mother to two young adults can do to make them do something they don’t want to,” she says.
Her 25-year-old daughter Sophia is worried about fertility problems should she have the vaccine, while her 22-year-old son Paolo has had the virus once before so thinks it’s unlikely that he’ll get it again.
Sophia’s worries of fertility issues are widespread, but the NHS website states, “there’s no evidence the covid-19 vaccines have any effect on your chances of becoming pregnant.”
“There’s no need to avoid getting pregnant after being vaccinated,” the website adds.
Approximately 34% of 18 to 29-year-olds in England, about three million people, have not been vaccinated at all.
Half of all under-30s in England, which works out as more than four million people, received a first dose in the three weeks after the vaccination programme was opened to people in their twenties in June.
Meanwhile, Karren’s daughter Sophia has over 300,000 followers on Instagram, and works as a model-come-influencer – following in her mum’s footsteps of becoming a business woman.
The 25-year-old bombshell posts frequent sexy lingerie clad snaps to her Instagram page.
The posts usually rack up around 15,000–40,000 likes, and are sometimes in collaboration with brands like Boux Avenue.
