Kate Ferdinand has cried constantly and feels 'overwhelmed' since giving birth

First-time mum Kate Ferdinand has opened up to her fans about her early motherhood struggles.

Kate, 29, wife of former England footballer Rio Ferdinand, gave birth to her first child Cree just before Christmas.

In a candid Instagram Story post, Kate admitted she’s feeling “overwhelmed” and is “super-emotional” since the couple welcomed their child into the world.

During a Q&A session with followers, a fan asked: “How are you feeling?”

She replied: “I am slowly feeling better each day, it’s a gradual recovery and I’m taking it really easily but it’s good to be seeing little improvements daily.

“I’ve always been super emotional, whatever I’m feeling everyone always knows, I like to wear my heart on my sleeve.

“Since giving birth my emotions are still all over the place, I cry often… I feel so happy with our beautiful new addition but often having moments of feeling overwhelmed.

“I don’t know [whether] I’m coming or going most days,” alongside a crying with laughter emoji.

TOWIE star Kate and Rio got married in 2019 after she moved into his home and became a step mum to his three kids from a former marriage.

Kate also joked chihuahua Ron was being stroppy with her since she gave birth after a fan asked how he was coping with the new addition to the family.

“He’s really not happy,” Kate said.

“This is the first time he sat with me 2 weeks after coming home from hospital… he ignored me and still does most of the time I have Cree! He literally turns his head and walks away from me.

“He has also weed in the house twice, which is so unlike him… apparently it’s in protest to the change… I’m trying to give him attention but he’s really not happy with me loool.

“New baby, lockdown… and a stroppy dog.”

It isn’t the first time Kate, who found fame with TOWIE, has made a frank admission about the trials and tribulations of being a mum.

Earlier this month, Kate opened up about the ‘traumatic’ birth of Cree and showed off the bruises she received.

Kate previously explained she was sobbing with guilt over not being able to feed or change little Cree.

She told on Instagram: “After having an emergency c section, and a bit of a traumatic birth I’ve been completely wiped out. The happiness has been overwhelming but so have the tears and emotions.

“I’ve felt like I can’t do what I’m meant to be doing with Cree as I haven’t been able to change or feed him consistently which has had me feeling all types of guilt, for Cree, Rio & that I can’t be doing what I normally do for the kids. It’s a whirlwind I just wasn’t expecting … but at the same time the most perfect whirlwind.”
