Katie Price chooses care home for Harvey in emotional trailer for new BBC documentary

In a trailer for Harvey and Katie Price ‘s new documentary, the former glamour model and Harvey go to view a residential care home for her eldest son.

The clip comes after Katie, 42, shared the news this week that Harvey would be going into full-time residential care.

Katie has raised Harvey singlehandedly but recently shared that she took the difficult decision to place Harvey into full-time care as she no longer is able to restrain him if he loses his temper as he is six foot two and now weighs 29 stone.

The mum-of-five is hoping Harvey, who is also the son of retired footballer Dwight Yorke, will be able to lead more of an independent life at the care facility.

Katie spent six months looking for the best residential care home for Harvey after he turned 18 last year.

The tear-jerking scenes are captured in a trailer for BBC documentary Katie Price: Harvey and Me, which is being released later this month.

In the newly-released clip, Katie is seen in the garden with Harvey and other family members as he celebrates his 18th birthday.

Watching her son open his birthday cards, Katie shares: “Things change when you’re 18 for anyone. You become an adult. Whereas for Harvey he’s got complex needs.”

Harvey has Prader-Willi syndrome, autism and is partially blind.

Katie, who shares an incredible bond with Harvey, is then seen supportively holding his arm as they sit in the back of a car together, while she quizzes him about whether he is “excited” for college.

Katie tells him: “As long as you’re happy, I’m happy.”

Harvey sweetly replies: “Exactly, baby.”

Speaking about making the difficult decision to The Sun this week, Katie shared: “It breaks my heart. I don’t want him to think I’m just getting rid of him.”

“It’s so upsetting to think I won’t see him every day but this is the best thing for Harvey and we have to think positively.

“This is his chance to live an independent life, learn skills and socialise with people other than me.”

Katie Price: Harvey and Me will air on January 25 and will be available to stream from BBC iPlayer.
