Kelvin Fletcher has admitted he’s been struggling to find acting work and has been rejected from 10 jobs.
The former Emmerdale star is famed for playing Andy Sugden in the ITV soap, and he even won series 17 of Strictly Come Dancing in 2019.
However, he’s still been finding it hard to pick up a new pay-check despite his recent showbiz success.
The actor opened up to his fans on an Instagram Live, where he revealed how hard it’s been for him to bag new acting roles, and how “sick” he is of being told “no”.
He said: “A friend of mine, an actress, just messaged me and said, ‘I can’t even get a f***ing self-tape.
“So I know how frustrating those little selfies are, because I’ve been that person thinking, ‘Even they are working now.’
“Let me tell you, I’ve had about 10 nos in these last few months.”
Kelvin went on to share the exciting news that he’s caught a break as he’s been offered a new TV role.
He wanted his followers to “keep the faith” if they’re struggling to find success in the business too, telling them to stay “patient”.
He continued: “So, keep the faith. Patience is key, as I always say.
“It’s only a little gig, so don’t be getting too bothered.
“For all those out there who, like me, are sick of hearing the nos, I’m sure I’m going to get a lot more nos after this one.
“But I’m enjoying this while it is. Thus, the obligatory trailer selfie. It’s obviously p***ed off quite a few people – enjoy!”
The soap star is set to star in a new Channel 5 thriller called Teacher, where he’ll be working alongside Gavin & Stacey star Sheridan Smith.
Kelvin played hunky Andy Sugden in Emmerdale from 1996 until 2016 – and fans have been hoping he might return one day in the future, as his character was not killed off.
At the time of his exit, Kelvin said he was quitting to focus on his rally driving career.
