Singer Kerry Katona has reached out to pal Katie Price to offer up support after she was allegedly assaulted.
The 40-year-old ex-Atomic Kitten star who became good friends with Katie during their stint together on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2004, has spoke about the situation.
Former Page 3 star Katie was taken to hospital on August 23 after police attended an incident in Essex at 1:30am.
Katie later unveiled injuries which included bruising across her face with a source later revealing she had been treated for a suspected fractured jaw and eye split.
A 32-year-old man has been released on conditional bail after being arrested on suspicion of assault, theft and coercive and controlling behaviour.
Speaking about the situation, Kerry Katona has shared her sadness vowing to support her friend who has always been there for her.
Writing in her latest New column, via OK!, she penned: “Katie has always been there for me when I’ve been in a difficult situation and she knows I’m here for her now, and I’ve reached out to her.
“Everyone is rallying around her and supporting her.”
Essex Police said in a statement following the alleged incident: “We were called by colleagues in the ambulance service to reports of an assault shortly after 1.30 am this morning, Monday 23 August.
“We arrived and found a woman had sustained a facial injury which required hospital treatment.
“A man was arrested a short time later on suspicion of assault.”
It had been reported by The Sun that Katie’s case could be dropped after friends had suggested she wouldn’t be able to to face “another court appearance”.
However, the reality star’s representative told the Daily Star: “Katie is not withdrawing her statement.
“She is emotionally vulnerable but strong with the dedicated support of all those around her, management, family and the unconditional support of her fans and supporters.”
