Kimberly Wyatt has opened up about the reason she decided to get sterilised at the age of 37 after she welcomed her third child.
The 39-year-old singer and her husband Max Rogers appeared on Loose Women on Wednesday to discuss their decision to get sterilised in an effort to reduce the impact of children on the environment.
Shortly after she delivered her son Ford Senna in 2019, the former Pussycat Doll made the decision to “have her tubes clamped” following her caesarean delivery.
But despite plans to go ahead and get a vasectomy, Max confessed on the show that he felt he had “got off the hook” after her sterilisation and postponed his operation.
Janet Street-Porter later quizzed model Max as to whether or not he plans to go ahead with the operation to show his devotion to his wife.
She asked: “Max, why don’t you go ahead and get a vasectomy anyway because that would show Kimberly that you really, really support her?”
To which he replied: “Janet, that’s exactly the plan, that is the plan. And having not had the baby immediately before the lockdown it would have been done by now but it still is the plan.
“And like I said, I sort of felt like I’d been let off the hook and she’s had three C sections and I literally haven’t had to do anything to myself.
“So, yeah, I’m still gonna stick to that plan and still do it.”
When the pair explained their reason behind their sterilisation, Kimberly confessed she felt like her family was complete after they welcomed their two daughters.
Kay Adams went on to ask: “Do you sort of feel like you might be shutting the stable door after the horse has pulled in because you’ve got three children already?”
Which Max bravely answered: “I mean, listen, we are so happy with the third child and it wasn’t necessarily out of the question that we wouldn’t have a third child but it would have been a little bit further down the line.
“So, it was a happy surprise when he arrived and, yeah, perhaps if we were definitely sure it would have been two it would have been, as you say, a little late.”
Loose Women continues on weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
