Loose Women viewers fume as ‘huge’ announcement proves to be a let-down

Loose Women fans fumed after a “huge” announcement turned out to be an anticlimax.

The panelists had teased the shock announcement throughout Thursday’s episode, after revealing it would finally be announced live on-air after 1pm.

Viewers of the ITV show had turned to Twitter to guess what the shock announcement could be, with some suggesting it could be that the panelists would answer viewers’ questions live on air.

Others feared the show would be axed altogether.

But as Charlene White made the “exciting” announcement, anticipation quickly turned to frustration.

Charlene announced that as COVID-19 restrictions were easing, four panelists would finally be allowed to be in the studio together again.

Until now, only three have been allowed in the socially-distanced studio at one time, with another appearing via video link.

But fans found the surprise a huge let-down, and took to Twitter to vent their frustrations.

“What the actual. How in any way shape or form is that exciting news?” someone wrote.

Another added: “Sh** announcement, not surprised whatsoever.”

A third viewer ranted: “Loose Women’s big announcement is there’s gonna be 4 of them in the studio?”

“Such a huge announcement!” another penned sarcastically.

Someone else joked that any panelist appearing via Zoom wouldn’t “want to leave her sofa at home” to return to the studio for filming.

“I’m convinced ITV have actually lost the plot”, another disgruntled viewer typed.

Another viewer’s comment dripped with sarcasm as they posted: “That is earth shattering news.”

Charlene said the announcement was “extra special” as there were panelists she’s never met in person

Charlene said on Thursday’s show: “For 13 months there has only been three Loose Women in the studio, but from Monday we will be back to four!”

All four panelists cheered, with confetti releasing from the ceiling.

“Because it’s the relaxing of the rules, we’re getting a brand-new, socially distanced set, which means we can welcome an extra lady to join us,” she explained.

Charlene added that it was “extra specially special” as there are some panelists she’s never actually met face-to-face, including Hollyoaks star Kelle Bryan.

Elsewhere in Thursday’s show, Steps singer Lee Latchford-Evans revealed he “didn’t believe” his wife Kerry when she told him she was pregnant.

The couple had been undergoing IVF treatment in an attempt to conceive.

Kerry admitted she had to take three separate pregnancy tests before Lee actually believed the good news, with him suggesting the blue line was “too faint” to be a positive.

Eventually, a digital test which said ‘pregnant’ or ‘not pregnant’ confirmed the news they were expecting.
