Lorraine Kelly has opened up about her secret heartache after her 80-year-old dad was left fighting for his life last year.
The 61-year-old television presenter has been lifting the spirits of the nation throughout the ongoing coronavirus pandemic on her talk show.
However, she’s been dealing with her own personal heartbreak while the cameras stop rolling.
The mother-of-one has recalled the moment that her beloved dad John, 80, was left fighting for his life.
John has heart failure and had a really bad health scare last year just before the pandemic struck.
The ITV star told Sunday People: “We went through a few very tough months thinking we were going to lose him. It was just awful – but he was amazing, he rallied.

“This time last year he was in hospital and got out just before Covid started. He basically has heart failure.
“He also had a really bad scare and they thought he had lung cancer but it was just a massive, massive infection.”
Lorraine hasn’t been able to see her parents John and Anne Kelly since July last year as they live in Scotland while she’s based in London.
The broadcaster took to social media earlier this month to share her gratitude to the NHS, army and volunteers as her mother Anne receives the Covid-19 vaccine.

On her Instagram page, the breakfast telly star shared an image of her mother Anne in a face-mask and about to receive the jab at a vaccine centre.
Lorraine, who has daughter called Rosie, captioned the image: “My mum getting the vaccine! Hurrah.
“Thanks to the NHS, the army and all the volunteers making it happen. #thankful#happy “.

Naturally, the presenter received lots of positive comments and well-wishes in the replies section to the post.
Lorraine broke down in tears during the Christmas Day special of her talk show as Anne made an appearance via a video link.
An emotional Kelly told co-stars Dr Hilary Jones and fashion expert Mark Heyes: “I wish I could see them, it’s terrible isn’t it? I haven’t seen her for ages.
