Louise Redknapp has revealed her mum is worried her buff friends are putting off potential boyfriends for her.
The singer, who used to be married to footy ace Jamie Rednapp, says despite the fact she’s often surround by gay men her mum is concerned they are hindering her dating chances.
She thinks they will be put off by Louise’s pal’s buff bodies and think they have to compete.
Speaking to Dan Hudson and James Barr on their A Gay And a Nongay podcast, Louise said: “My mum said to me, ‘When you’re sat there with eight boys, maybe men aren’t not coming up to ask you out because they think one of them is your boyfriend…”
She chuckled: “It just made me laugh… I don’t want to have to wear a T-shirt saying, ‘They’re all gay men!'”
Louise was married to Jamie for 19 years before they split in 2017.
Despite going their separate ways they have remained civil – partly for the sake of their two sons.
After an tough few years after the break-up, sources now say Louise is in a good place and ready to find love once more.
An insider told Heat World: “Lou says speaking about her marriage has really helped to heal her.
“She’s serious about moving on, and has said that clearing all that toxic energy from the past has made her realise she could see herself getting married again.
“She’d like another chance at getting her happy ending.”
Despite being ready to get back in the saddle, Louise cautious about dipping her toe into the dating pool once more.
“Louise doesn’t want to get messed around,” the source continued.
“She’s got a list of requirements – mainly that he’s self-sufficient, secure in himself and trustworthy. Since releasing her book, her energy has completely shifted.
“She doesn’t want to be forever defined by her failed marriage, or seem as though she can’t let go of the past.”
Speaking to You earlier this year, Louise detailed how she struggled to cope during after her marriage ended.
She said: “I sank to my knees, crouched down by the radiator and sobbed and sobbed.
“That was the first time I ever wondered whether I would be better off not being here.
“For a split second, I was like, ‘I would really like this all to go away’.”
Referring to her sons, Louise added: “But I’ve got two little men I know need me more than anything… they’re the only thing that kept me going. Them and my mum.”
