Love Island 2021 winners Millie and Liam talk marriage plans after leaving the villa

Love Island 2021 winners Millie and Liam have talked about their marriage plans now that they’ve left the villa.

The 24-year-old beauty and 22-year-old Welshman were crowned the winners of the series on Monday and now have revealed what the future holds for them as a couple.

The same episode saw the lovebirds finally make their relationship official, as Liam asked Millie to be his girlfriend during their live exit interview.

Reflecting on that moment, Liam told the Daily Mail: “I dropped the ‘L-bomb’ a few days ago and said that I loved Millie and she said the same back, so we’re already a thing, but it’s just putting that title on it.

“It was on my mind. Laura asked us the question, ‘Is boyfriend, girlfriend coming next?’ and Millie said, ‘Yes in the future, it’ll be happening soon’ and I thought, ‘Well, it’s been on my mind so let’s do it!’

“I couldn’t think of anything more [that I wanted to do] than making Millie my girlfriend because I love her.”

The pair went on to suggest that wedding bells are in their future, and Millie said she had high hopes for the proposal.

“The proposal is going to have to be massive!” The Essex babe insisted, while Liam agreed saying: “It’s going to be huge, I’m sure I can pull it out of the bag. I’m sure I can do it.”

Millie and Liam also discussed the possibility of moving in together soon, with Liam confirming that he will be moving to Essex.

He said he was planning on making the big leap soon and that he would be hopefully moving in with the other boys from the villa.

While they said that they would move in together eventually, the couple stated that they wanted to wait for a bit in a bid to avoid adding too much pressure to the new relationship and give each other the chance to miss one another.

Love Island voting figures revealed the couple were by far the most popular, after scoring an impressive 42.02% of the final public’s votes, made via the show’s mobile app, while Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran, who placed second, earned 30.85% of votes.

Meanwhile, Faye Winter and Teddy Soares saw 14.85% of users voting for them, landing them in third place.

Kaz Kamwi and Tyler Cruickshank, who were the first of the four finalists to be booted from the villa, received 12.27% of the votes.
