Love Island fans have flocked to social media to unite in their shared disgust of the food spitting games on the show.
In Monday night’s episode the sexy singletons could be seen partaking in game where they had to pass food into and then out of each other’s mouths before plating up the “neatest” roast dinner.
First the boys had to throw slices of meat onto the girls’ chests and faces, and then the boys had to pick up food with their mouths before putting it into their partner’s mouths.
Roast potatoes, gravy and cabbage were just some of the cold roast dinner elements that the islanders had to share – literally.
Toby could be seen squirting gravy into Chloe’s mouth, a scene that made fans of the show gag, with one woman even saying she was complaining to Ofcom.
Viewers of the show were live tweeting as the game unfolded.
One viewer penned: “Spitting food in my mouth? You know you can be prosecuted for that?”
While a woman tweeted a screenshot of an Ofcom complaint that she had filed, which racked up more than 2,000 likes, saying: “The food challenge has left me no other choice.”
Another woman made a plea to Ofcom by tagging their account in her tweet: “That food challenge was disgusting. Please don’t ever do that again. Spitting? Eww. Spitting food in each other mouths? Double eww! Plus we literally still have Covid. Both the men and women looked horrified having to do it too.”
Former Love Island winner Amber Gill even took to Twitter to share her disgust.
She said: “I feel like I have said this before but I was so bad in the first food challenge gagging every five seconds and not being able to participate they let me present any of the other disgusting ones with food.”
One fan replied: “It looks so bad… also during a pandemic who wants to endure watching this let alone participating?!?”
While another said: “I was literally trying not to throw up watching it had to look away and cover my mouth.”
