Love Island’s Liberty Poole is a firm fan-favourite and has been coupled up with Jake Cornish since day one of the villa, but things might be on the rocks for the longest-standing couple.
In the preview clip for Thursday’s episode, Liberty, 21, could be seen shaken up and talking to the other girls in the dressing room, wiping tears from her eyes while discussing her and Jake, 24.
The Nandos waitress got teary-eyed as she disclosed that she had been having a “rocky week” and how she didn’t want to be taken “for granted”.
Liberty said in the clip: “If he is he’s not the one for me, if he’s taking me for granted he’s not the one for me babe.
“I feel like I’ve just been having a rocky week.”
Fans flocked to Twitter to show their concern and support for the couples comically coined as “Jiberty”.
One said: “No Liberty, don’t have doubt you are Jake are so meant to be #jiberty.”
A second said: “Did Love Island do the tweet challenge or something why is Liberty upset I need to know.”
Whereas a third penned: “I think it’s just caught up with Liberty. After the movie night she’s probably going back over their interactions and realising he hasn’t been sincere all along. Bless her.”
And a fourth wrote: “No because now I wanna know what Jake did to make Liberty say that.”
Whereas some super eagle-eyed viewers think they spotted Liberty smiling while Chloe Burrows hugged her for support, hinting at the fact it could be for a challenge that Liberty is partaking in.
One tweeted: “Liberty was smiling when Chloe hugged her. I think it is just a challenge. Do not get your hopes up.”
A second fan also spotted the moment and said: “Was Liberty smiling at the end of that preview?”
The pair has been pretty much unbreakable the whole series up until the lineup was shown Jake’s sly antics in Casa Amor and a clip of him talking about how he didn’t want to “rip her clothes off” when the two had first coupled up.
This then upset Liberty and has put her out of sorts, with her saying “I know I’m not a supermodel, that’s why I lead with my personality”, which viewers found heartbreaking to watch.
Love Island airs nightly at 9pm on ITV2
