Love Island fans have been left worried that Hugo Hammond could be in trouble after Danny Bibby made a move on his partner AJ.
Hugo has been coupled up with AJ – Andrea-Jane Bunker – ever since a dramatic recoupling shook the villa on Sunday night, in which AJ shocked Hugo by choosing to couple up with him.
However, despite the pair getting on well during Monday night’s episode, and AJ showing a lot of interest in the Hampshire-based cricket player, it appeared Hugo was having some doubts about his feelings for the bombshell.
Speaking to the Beach Hut about his relationship with AJ, the former PE teacher confessed that he felt there was “something missing” for him even though he thinks she’s “gorgeous”.
Unfortunately for Hugo though, he could have his work cut out for him now if he wants to pursue AJ because new boy Danny is very keen on Hertfordshire stunner AJ, so competition between the boys could be on the horizon.
It comes as new boy Danny chose to snog AJ in the Snog, Marry, Pie challenge – where he left Love Island fans fuming after choosing to put a pie in Lucinda’s face because she didn’t speak to all day, despite them being in a couple.
Danny had chosen to walk right past Lucinda Strafford and instead decided to kiss a rather stunned AJ before he chose to ‘marry’ Millie Court and savagely thrust a pie in Lucinda’s face.
At the end of the episode though, Danny and Lucinda decided to split as a couple and just remain friends, but Danny wasted no time at all before trying to crack on with AJ.
As the pair went for a private chat in the evening, Danny told AJ that he had ended things with Lucinda, saying that they both feel like “there’s a weight lifted off our shoulders”.
He then admitted: “Obviously I want to get to know you”.
Danny continued by saying that even though him and AJ haven’t spoken, he feels like the two enjoy looking at each other, which AJ agreed with.
Back at the Beach Hut, Danny confessed: “After the friend-zoning with Lucinda, AJ takes my breath away”.
Fans on social media became fearful that Danny is set to wreck Hugo’s coupling with AJ, with many flocking to Twitter to air their concerns.
One worried user wrote: “If Danny takes AJ away from Hugo I’m never watching Love Island again.”
A second fan commented: “Finally a girl is saying she really likes and he’s actually coupled up with the person. Then Danny comes along.”
A third joined in and penned: “Danny please leave our AJ alone she is Hugo’s wife please.”
A fourth then pointed out what they saw as hypocritical behaviour in Danny, adding: “So Danny’s okay to come for AJ when she’s coupled up with Hugo but Aaron is snakey for doing the same with Lucinda.”
Love Island continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV2.
