Love Island is set to return to our screens in the very near future after lengthy hiatus due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic restrictions.
ITV was forced to axe the summer series last year but bosses have since promised that the upcoming seventh series will be bigger and better than ever before.
Over the past six years, fans have witnessed several sexy singletons getting down and dirty as they try to find “the one” inside the famous villa.
While some contestants have been completely unknown members of the general public, others have had links to the world of showbiz.
From famous parents to celebrity exes, Daily Star has taken a sneak peek at the stars who had a taste of fame before entering the villa.
Rachel Christie – Linford Christie’s niece
Model Rachel Christie took part in the first series of Love Island back in 2015.
The former competitive athlete is the niece of Olympic gold medalist Linford Christie.
She was crowned Miss England in 2019 and was the first black woman to hold the title.
Rachel was mentored by Caprice and was invited by Naomi Campbell to walk in her Fashion for Relief Haiti catwalk show to raise funds for 2010 Haiti earthquake.
Her time in the famous villa was short lived and she was eliminated in Week 2.
The beauty pageant queen also has a son named Logan with Kelly Brook’s ex David McIntosh.
Scott Thomas – Ryan and Adam Thomas’ brother
Love Island viewers were left rubbing their eyes in 2016 when Scott Thomas entered the villa as a contestant for the second series.
The Manchester-born hunk is a spitting image of his famous brothers – Emmerdale’s Adam Thomas and Coronation Street’s Ryan Thomas.
He had a high profile relationship with Kady McDermott during his appearance on Love Island and they made it the grand final.
The pair became official during their time on the show, and continued to date on the outside world for just over a year.
It’s believed the couple split back in August 2017 after Kady shared a cryptic message on Twitter and they unfollowed each other.
Scott is now the owner of his own public relations agency, The Social PR, which he launched four years ago just before appearing on Love Island.
He recently returned to our TV screens, along with his soap star siblings Adam and Ryan, as they attempted to find out more about their heritage on ITV show, Mancs in Mumbai.
Dani Dyer – Danny Dyer’s daughter
Essex beauty Dani Dyer quit her role as a barmaid to become a television star like her father Danny Dyer.
She appeared on Survival of the Fittest in January 2018 but was forced to exit early due to injury, and later that year won the fourth series of Love Island alongside then-boyfriend Jack Fincham.
Since leaving the villa, Dani has co-presented MTV dating series True Love or True Lies alongside her father, and the dynamic duo also host a podcast together called Sorted with the Dyers.
The TV personality is also set to make her soap debut in EastEnders later this month as a cab driver who gives a lift to her dad’s character Mick Carter.
Dani is currently in a relationship with Sammy Kimmence, and she gave birth to their first child in January this year.
As well as being busy with baby Santiago, Dani recently released her own maternity range with fashion giants In The Style.
She recently spent some time away from parenting duties to reunite with her Love Island pals Georgia Steel and Samira Mighty for lunch in the sunshine.
The ladies took to social media to show off their ladies’ lunch after being unable to see each other due to the coronavirus lockdown restrictions.
Laura Anderson – Dane Bowers’ ex
Laura Anderson appeared in the fourth series of Love Island and was crowned the runner-up alongside Paul Knops.
She video messaged series one winner Max Morley to ask him if he would recommend going on ITV2 dating show before making her decision.
Before entering the villa in 2018, Laura dated Another Level band member Dane Bowers.
The former air hostess reportedly dumped the pop star in 2018 when she discovered he was dating another lookalike woman behind her back.
However, the pair have since reunited as Laura moved to Dubai.
Not wasting time since getting back together, they’ve moved into a home together and are already looking to take the next steps.
Speaking to New magazine, Dane admitted: “We’re talking about marriage and babies and we’d like to do that soon.”
The couple also admitted they said “I love you” quickly after their relationship was back on as they looked to “move on” from the past.
Belle Hassan – Tamer Hassan’s daughter
Game of Thrones star Tamer Hassan helped his daughter Belle win a place on the fourth season of the dating show.
The makeup artist previously revealed that her dad’s pal approached ITV bosses after she agreed to take part.
Tamer even entered the villa as part of the show’s Meet The Parents segment and bonded with Belle’s partner Anton Danyluk.

She was dumped from the island in Week 8 with partner Anton Danyluk, one day before the final.
Belle and Anton have since gone their separate ways and she previously admitted that she’d like to try her luck on Celebs Go Dating.
She told Entertainment Daily: “Celebs Go Dating will be next. I’d love to do that.
“Although I don’t know who my perfect date would be. I hate everyone!”
Curtis Pritchard – AJ Pritchard’s brother
Professional dancer Curtis Pritchard waltzed into the Love Island villa as a late addition during the fifth series.
He caught the attention of Amy Hart and Maura Higgins during his stint on the show.
Curtis cooled things off with bubbly blonde Amy days after becoming half-girlfriend and half-boyfriend to spark up a relationship with Irish beauty Maura.
Maura and Curtis lasted a few months in the outside world but their relationship came to an end last year.
Since leaving the villa, Curtis has tried his luck at acting alongside his Strictly Come Dancing and I’m A Celebrity star brother AJ Pritchard.
The siblings played twin brothers Marco and Jacob in Hollyoaks for a few episodes last month.
Curtis has also appeared on Celebs Go Dating and is set to go on tour with AJ later this year.
Tommy Fury – Tyson Fury’s brother
Tommy Fury, the younger brother of boxer Tyson Fury, found love with Molly-Mae Hague during the fifth season of the ITV2 dating show.
The couple have gone from strength to strength since meeting in 2019 and his family seem to approve of Tommy’s girlfriend.
He recently flew out to Miami to join Tyson at training camp ahead of his fight against Anthony Joshua.
Taking to social media, the brothers have shared their lavish antics in Miami over the last few days.
Proving that the family have welcomed Molly-Mae with open arms, Tyson recently congratulated the Instagram influencer on passing her driving test.
The boxer replied to her post saying: “I’d just like to say a massive congratulations to Molly-Mae on passing her driving test.
“I know it meant a lot to you, I’m sorry I dragged Tommy over here and kept him away.
“He wanted to send you flowers, congratulations – all the best.”
Paige Turley – Lewis Capaldi’s ex
Paige Turley and her boyfriend Finley Tapp were crowned the winners of the first-ever winter series of Love Island in February 2020.
The lovebirds are still going strong and often share loved-up snaps together on social media.
Scottish beauty Paige previously dated singing sensation Lewis Capaldi before she entered the famous villa.
They dated on and off from 2014 to 2016 after meeting at college in Motherwell.
Despite their split, the former couple remain on good terms, and Lewis has previously said he has no problem with Paige talking about their time together.
Paige revealed her famous ex congratulated her on winning Love Island.
Speaking to the BBC, she said: “I actually text him to say congratulations on his Brits.
“Yeah he text me back to congratulate me on Love Island so it’s good but I haven’t really had a chance to catch up with anybody.”
When asked about their relationship, Paige said: “We’re still good friends.”
Sophie Piper – Rochelle Humes’ sister
Rochelle Humes’ lookalike sister Sophie Piper entered the sixth season of Love Island in January 2020.
The Saturdays singer took to Instagram to send her sibling a good luck message just before the series kicked off.
“Good luck baby sis. Bring us back a keeper,” the mum-of-three wrote underneath Sophie’s post confirming she would be on the show.
Rochelle’s hubby Marvin Humes also cheekily commented: “This how far @rochellehumes will go to make me watch Love Island?! Good luck Soph x.”
Medical PA Sophie was dumped from the island on Day 22 and has remained firmly in the public eye since her early exit from the dating show.
Sophie did begin a romance with fellow islander Connor Durman but things fizzled out six months after leaving the villa.
When Connor was dumped from the South African villa, the pair vowed to continue their relationship once they got both got back to the UK.
However, things were not meant to be as they never got around to officially becoming boyfriend and girlfriend.
