Love Island winner Cara De La Hoyde in tears as she “can't cope” with daughter

Love Island star and 2016 series winner Cara De La Hoyde shared an emotional Instagram video earlier this week, saying she “can’t cope” with her baby daughter Delilah.

Cara, 31, broke down in tears in the video and told fans: “So I genuinely… I need help – I’ve just rung [my husband] Nathan crying, I don’t know what to do.”

She said that Delilah hadn’t stopped crying for 45 minutes, adding that: “Delilah’s just such hard work. I know everyone we spoke to said it’s lockdown babies – but Fred wasn’t like this.

“I don’t know how to cope with her. You can’t walk out of the room, you can’t put her down.

“She’s in her playpen now, she’s safe. Don’t judge me.

“People go: ‘You’ve got to leave them’ – but honestly she will cry for like 45 minutes non-stop and get herself in a state where she can’t breathe,” added Cara.

“It’s just really draining. I’ve got a house to run, I’ve got work commitments. Literally, I can’t get nothing done. I don’t know what to do, I don’t know where we go for help.”

She asked fans for advice in the video, saying: “If anyone’s got any tips, please let us know. Don’t say to leave her to cry because it doesn’t work. Honestly. The child don’t give in.”

The mum-of-two from Essex gave birth to Delilah last year with Love Island co-star Nathan Massey, and also has a two year old son Freddie.

Prior to Love Island, Cara was a dancer, and she said: “My body was my commodity. It earned me money. Working in clubs six nights a week, I didn’t need to go to the gym.”

She joined the show in 2016, where she met Nathan. The couple won the 2016 series of Love Island and got married three years later.

Since the show and having children, Cara has left her dancing career behind her to dedicate her time to being a full-time mum.

“Once you have kids, you need to cut yourself some slack because your body is going to change,” says Cara.

“But it’s done something amazing. Even my social media is different. Before I had kids, I’d never put up the pictures I do now.”
