From being the most rock solid couple in the villa to splitting and then quitting – ‘Jiberty’ have reportedly packed their bags and left Love Island.
Friday’s episode sees Iain Stirling’s voiceover promise that “epic dates lead to epic decisions”.
Fans had wondered if Jake and Liberty’s final date would actually go ahead. Tonight though, they’ll see Liberty receive a text which reads:
“Liberty and Jake. Please get ready to leave the villa for your final date. #makeorbreak”
As the former couple decide whether to go through the motions, Jake, 24, tells Lib, 21 : “I think it would be silly not to go on a date. It’s entirely up to you.”
Deciding to go for it, they hit the water on a luxurious boat, complete with a red flag. Jake says: “Here we are then. Our perfect date we’ve always spoken about. You look beautiful today.”
Liberty responds: “Thank you. You look nice as well. How do you feel?”
Jake replies: “It’s a tricky one really. I didn’t think I’d be coming on a date with the one I thought was the one.”
Liberty admits: “I don’t know what happened along the way but the spark just faded.”
“On my behalf I felt the affection died out. That’s a big thing for me and that’s nothing against you as a person,” says Jake.
Liberty bares her soul in response, saying:
“I’m not going to lie – I did fall in love with you. And at one point I thought I had found the one but once the honeymoon passes you start seeing the cracks.”

The pair then return to the villa and Liberty gathers their fellow islanders, saying: “Do you all want to gather around the fire pit?”
As their stunned friends assemble, it’s thought that Jake and Liberty announce that they are leaving the villa.
A source told Mail Online: “They’d given it their all on camera and wanted to let their friends in other couples have a chance at winning.
“It’s not 100 per cent over for Jake and Liberty, there are still a lot of feelings involved, so who knows what will happen in the future.”
Liberty’s mother is already in Mallorca, after flying to the villa to film the episode where the Islanders reunite with their parents.
Love Island airs nightly on ITV2 and ITV Hub at 9pm
