Love Island's Jess Hayes says her 'life was in danger' during tragic miscarriage

Jessica Hayes has given harrowing details about her life being in danger during her heartbreaking miscarriage.

The Love Island winner and her fiancé Dan Lawry tragically lost their unborn child when she was just 19 weeks pregnant.

But until now, fans didn’t know the extent of the devastation the couple went through.

Emotional Jessica recalled the exact moment she was rushed to hospital after suffering from bleeding.

She then shared that her life was at risk – as well as the child’s – as medics came to her aid.

Speaking to new! magazine, she opened up about the terrifying time.

Jess told that the past months have been “the hardest of her life” but she says her son Presley has helped her through it.

The 27-year-old said: “My heart is shattered.

“Although I had Dan with me, I really wanted my mum,” she said. “So she swapped over and was there with me during the labour.

“It’s not that I didn’t want Dan but I could only pick one person and I felt like I needed my mum.

“They also didn’t know if I was going to be OK as you can get really sick and I lost a lot of blood.

“My life was in danger as well as the baby’s.”

Jess then recalled going with partner Dan to the bereavement suite at the hospital to say goodbye to Teddy.

“I felt like I owed it to him to see him,” she added. “He’s as much my son as Presley.

“I think the hardest thing was seeing him so small but so perfect. He was like a little doll.

“He was my son. My mum saw him as well and then they let Dan come and say goodbye. That was the hardest thing in the world.

“Seeing your child and not being able to take them home is the worst thing.”
