Love Island's Liberty Poole had secret chat with Hugo Hammond as she 'kept options open'

Love Island’s Liberty Poole was all about Jake Cornish from day one, but in the first week when he told Liberty he would still get to know other people, she decided to do the same.

When Millie Court and Lucinda Strafford entered the villa, Jake decided to pull Millie for a chat, though there wasn’t a spark between the pair.

However, while Jake was busy pulling Millie for a chat, Liberty set her sights on PE teacher Hugo Hammond.

In a chat with Closer Online, Hugo, Lillie and Lucinda revealed some show secrets – including a chat between Liberty and Hugo which was cut from the show.

Speaking about something he was shocked wasn’t on the show, Hugo said: “When I got back I spoke to my family and I said, ‘Oh did you see that Lib pulled me for a chat when Jake had a chat with Mills?’ and I don’t think it was shown, but me and Lib had a chat.”

Lucinda added: “Oh! Was that not shown?”, to which Hugo responded: “I don’t think so.”

Lucinda said: “Oh! That’s goss, tea central.”

However, Hugo refused to reveal the details as to what was said between him and Liberty, as Lucinda said: “She was exploring her options, wasn’t she?”, as Hugo said: “Yeah I think so.”

Although viewers didn’t witness the chat between Hugo and Liberty, nothing would have come of it, as Liberty and Jake ultimately stayed together.

The pair have continued to grow in the weeks that followed Millie’s entrance to the villa, and Jake also asked Liberty to be his girlfriend – but it hasn’t stopped the pair going on the rocks.

The fallout of Casa Amor has still been ongoing as Jake and Liberty discussed how things haven’t been the same since Movie Night, which showed clips of the couples during their time both in the villa and in Casa Amor.

It followed Jake telling his friends that he didn’t want to rip Liberty’s clothes off – a clip from the first week – but it has left Liberty feeling insecure.

Jake has reassured her, but tonight’s episode will see the girls raise more concerns about her beau, can the couple work things out?

Love Island continues tonight on ITV2 at 9pm.
