Love Island's Shannon and Hugo 'ditched their partners' ready for show

Love Island’s Shannon Singh and Hugo Hammond reportedly ditched their partners ahead of signing up for the new series.

It has been claimed that the Daily Star’s very own Page 3 bombshell Shannon, who also goes by Ruby and Alexa, was dating a hunky DJ since last year.

Speaking to Daily Star earlier this year, Shannon confirmed she had been dating somebody.

When speaking to our lifestyle team on our Facebook Live Hot Topics panel in March, the Scottish bombshell shared that she had a boyfriend – a handsome DJ, named Ben Sterling, who she’s previously jetted away with, alongside a group of pals.

The Sun on Sunday have revealed she dumped the music producer after making it to the final stages of the casting for Love Island.

A source told The Sun : “They both said they loved each other, so it was a real shock when she called time on their relationship out of the blue.

“She obviously felt Love Island was too big an opportunity to miss out on because she was already dating someone — even someone she seemed to really like. She’s clearly not averse to leaving broken hearts behind her.”

The Scottish bombshell who claims to have sex eight times each day isn’t the only Islander-to-be that has reportedly ditched a lover in a bid to make it big on the show.

The first ever disabled contestant, dreamboat Hugo, has also been accused of ditching a lover… or two.

Hugo, who said he has been ‘single for a while now’ was coupled up in November 2020!

The hunk celebrated the two-year anniversary with his ex-girlfriend in November, and began texting a new woman not long after he ended it.

A source told The Sun: “Hugo was in contact with both right up until he got the call-up for Love Island at the last minute.

“He had ended their relationship, but she was hopeful they would get back together, because they were still talking.”

The 24-year-old hunk is the first disabled singleton to enter the villa since the show began.

The P.E Teacher from Hampshire has claimed to be “single for a while”.

Reflecting on how hard dating has been during the pandemic, he said: “It’s been really hard to get back into dating. I saw it as an opportunity to have an amazing fun summer and put myself back out there.”
