Lucy Mecklenburgh felt 'no pressure' to shed 4.5st weight gain after pregnancy

Lucy Mecklenburgh has admitted she didn’t feel under pressure to lose her post-baby body after putting on four-and-a-half stone during her pregnancy with 19-month-old son, Roman.

The 30-year-old reality star, who welcomed her son with fiancé Ryan Thomas, 37, last March, revealed she felt happy embracing her post-baby body and “wasn’t bothered” about the weight gain.

The star said: “When I was pregnant, I was in such a happy bubble. I actually put on 4 1/2st, and I thought: “I don’t think I’ll ever be the size I was before,” but I wasn’t really bothered,’ she told The Sun.

Lucy had planned to get straight back to her fitness regime soon after giving birth, but she recalls feeling too tired and has since changed her whole approach to working out.

“When I had Roman, I thought: ‘Six to eight weeks and I’ll be back into my workouts and eating well.’

“I was knackered so I didn’t want to. I needed to leave my body to recover and I didn’t care how I looked.

“After six months, I started some light workouts and eating better, but I train so differently now compared with before Roman.”

Lucy now focuses on doing low impact workouts and focuses on helping her mind relax, rather than just doing high energy exercises to make her as “lean” as possible.

“Before, it was all about smashing out a workout and being lean – now, it’s low impact and looking after my mind as well,” she added.

It comes after she revealed Roman was taken to intensive care and put on a ventilator after she found him ‘blue in his cot’.

It is not known what caused the illness that sent Roman to hospital for nearly a week but the pair have since confirmed he is now back at home safe and well.

Lucy wrote on Instagram: “As some of you may have noticed we haven’t been on social media lately. Just over a week ago I found Roman blue in his cot – probably every parent’s worst nightmare.

“Without going into two much detail it ended up with Roman being transferred to St Mary’s London intensive care being put on a ventilator.

“Thankfully we are now all home and Roman is back to his cheeky self.’”

The influencer took to Instagram last month to tell fans about the terrifying health scare and admitted she and Ryan may ‘never fully recover’.
