Fans of Married At First Sight UK witnessed Marilyse and Franky marry in a ceremony last week, and as they head off on their honeymoon, they won’t be seeing their pals on the flight.
While some of the other couples have gone to the likes of the Maldives and Mexico, Marilyse and Franky have headed a little closer to home.
With a postcard arriving to their hotel room, they found out that they would be spending their honeymoon at the Lake District on an intimate honeymoon.
Although the pair seemed happy to be heading there, fans were baffled and claimed they would be “fuming” if they were given the UK location.
Viewers immediately took to Twitter to share their shock, as one user wrote: “Lol, they obviously ran out of budget by the time it got to booking Franky and Marilyse’s honeymoon… to the Lake District.”
Another wrote: “Imagine you go on your honeymoon to Lake District then find out other people went to the Maldives and Mexico, I’d feel so mugged off.”
A third person said: “I’d be gutted knowing everyone else went to Maldives, Antigua and Mexico and I got to go to the Lake District.”
Meanwhile, others assumed they might have stayed in the UK to be close enough to her two children, 15-year-old Callum and 13-year-old Josh.
Although viewers were not quite sold on the honeymoon destination, it seems it’s working well for Marilyse and Franky, with the pair heading out to go paddle boarding – despite water being a fear of Marilyse’s.
He surprised her with the trip, confessing he “forgot” that she had a fear of water, but the pair ended up going paddle boarding on Lake Windemere in the Lake District.
After remembering her confession, he said: “As I said in my vows, I will always protect you, it’s the natural thing in me.”
Following their trip, Marilyse said: “I was dreading it but Franky made it fun, he made me laugh, feel at ease. I’m looking forward to continuing getting to know him.”
