Married At First Sight viewers flocked to social media to share their upset after hearing of Amy’s heartbreak.
The former glamour model broke down into tears as she revealed she had suffered the ultimate heartache before embarking on her journey to find true love with the help of E4’s matchmakers.
Amy, 34, revealed that her fiancé had left her in 2018 leaving her completely heartbroken, adding that her dream was to find true love.
“That was pretty sh***y, I worked through that, I met somebody and got pregnant.”
She later explained that after the relationship ended, she discovered she was pregnant with twins, with one tragically passing away and she had to medically terminate the second child due to complications.
“That honestly broke me,” she explained.
Amy went on to say: “The two things that I want is marriage and babies and I was so close to having both of those things and it didn’t work out.”
While visibly emotional and wiping her tears away, the sports journalist added: “For me the last straw was my mum having a stroke and she nearly died.
“That was a big eye-opener and made me realise as an only child, when my mum goes, who do I have? I want that support system.”
Shortly after her sobering revelation, viewers flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts, with one writing: “Amy’s story is really sad not gonna lie… #MAFS,” wrote one.
Before a second added: “Oh my God, my heart is breaking for Amy #MAFSUK.”
“Jesus Amy sounds like she’s lived a few lives in one lifetime. That’s a massive amount of trauma,” tweeted a third.
A fourth penned: “We’re not even 5 mins in and Amy’s past is already hitting me in the feels #MAFSUK.”
Ahead of her episode airing, Amy said: “With Married At First Sight UK, either I’m going to find the love of my life or I’m going to learn a really big lesson from it, which might lead me to the love of my life.”
Married At First Sight UK matchmakers had paired Amy with former rugby ace, Josh Christie, 26, which left her speechless as the newly married couple disclosed their ages to one another.
Josh had played rugby for Jamaica before being suspended from the game for four years back in 2018.
Since then, he has attempted to embark on a showbiz career, appearing on Shipwrecked and also walking the catwalk during London Fashion Week.
