Marti Pellow says the original Wet Wet Wet line-up will never get back together – and they don’t speak.
The Love Is All Around singer claimed his bandmates couldn’t stomach his solo projects, and he wasn’t happy that the rest of them performed without him.
He said it was “a shame the way it ended” but he won’t let it stop him making his own music.
Marti, 56, said: “I don’t talk to them. We don’t really talk to each other.
“That’s just the way it is. Just by saying that statement there, you know… you can interpret it yourself. I think we’ll just leave it at that.”
He added: “When I chose to take my foot off the pedal, to focus on writing my music or going and doing musical theatre, it just wasn’t acceptable to them.”
The Scottish singer admitted there was a legal row when the rest of Wet Wet Wet said they were going on without him.
He explained: “I said, ‘Hey, I don’t want that to happen…’ But then it was all kind of lawyers and stuff like that, so you just go, ‘Well, I’ll park it up. Move on’. So I moved on.”
But Marti is still proud of having been in the band.
