Matt LeBlanc's dad brands Friends star 'mother's boy' after 9-year 'feud'

Matt LeBlanc has been branded a ‘mother’s boy’ by his father following a nine-year feud where they haven’t spoken to each other, his dad says.

His dad, Paul LeBlanc, says the pair fell out over a ‘petty row’ over him giving away a motorbike.

The star’s father has spoken out as the actor is set to return to our TV screens in Friends: The Reunion on Thursday on Sky one.

Paul claims the incident led to a dispute that saw the 53-year-old cut him off financially and Paul moved out of his home.

The 79-year-old says he watches re-runs of the hit sitcom to feel “connected” to Matt and claims his son ignores his text messages.

Paul told The Sun on Sunday: “I’ve been living without any contact for nine years and it is still hard to believe what has happened.

“I’ve been cut off and locked out of my house over a humiliating argument about money and a motorbike.”

He went on to say that Matt has only sent him “one” birthday card in his years, and ignored his pleas for reaching out to reconcile the relationship.

Paul added: “It’s humiliating. But the truth is Matt has always been a mother’s boy and there have been so many fallings out. We are all getting older.

“My message to Matt is, ‘You need to get your act together before it is too late. You’re going to miss me when I’m gone.’ ”

The dad claims fame and money have “changed his son for the worse”, and he won’t watch the reunion as he can’t afford cable television.

Matt, who is reported to be receiving £2million for the reunion show, grew up in Newton, Massachusetts, with his mum Patricia.

Paul worked as a mechanic but split from Patricia, who was an office manager, and moved to Australia when Matt was young.

He had a son called Justin before returning to the US when Matt was eight years old, and said he would visit him on occasional weekends.

Matt moved to New York as a teengaer, aged 17, to pursue a career in modelling but at 5ft 10in he was told he was too short.

But a chance encounter with a woman turned him onto the journey of acting.

The star starred in a series of adverts and small TV shows but only had £8 when he auditioned to play Joey in 1994.
