Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped down as senior working members of the Royal Family in January 2020 and after a brief stint in Canada, the pair moved to Los Angeles in March 2020.
Former Page 3 girl Leilani Dowding, 41, who once starred on the Real Housewives of Cheshire, had guessed that she would always end up in LA and after the pair met in 2016, they have finally found their home.
Meghan and Harry have since signed a deal with Netflix with plans to produce potential documentaries, films and TV shows as Meghan seemingly returns to her former industry.
Leilani has revealed to Express.co.uk that she always thought the couple would end up in LA, saying: “I called it so long ago.”
She said: “I think she thought she was going to be like a Kardashian on the red carpet, wearing beautiful dresses and that was the life of a Princess or a Duchess.
“I think Meghan literally wants to be like a wannabe of the Kardashians, she wants the glamour, going out to red carpet events, wearing nice dresses.”
Leilani believed that Meghan’s career as an actress would have made life of a working royal would have been a “shock”.
She said: “I think she got a bit of a rude awakening when she saw what her duties will actually be.”
It does look like Meghan is moving towards her career-minded life in LA as Archewall Productions, Meghan and Harry’s production company, said in a statement on Wednesday that it is currently working on the series.
The new show Pearl is a family series that is about a young girl on a journey of self-discovery.
In the statement, Meghan said: “I’m thrilled that Archewell Productions, partnered with the powerhouse platform of Netflix, and these incredible producers, will together bring you this new animated series, which celebrates extraordinary women throughout history.
“David Furnish and I have been eager to bring this special series to light, and I am delighted we are able to announce it today.”
In an additional statement, David said that the pair are passionate about bringing positive stories of extraordinary women around the world to a global audience.
The new series comes after The Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed a multi-year deal with Netflix to produce their exclusive documentaries, films and children’s programmes.
They have shared their commitment to shine a light on people and causes around the world, adding in a statement at the time: “Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope.”
