Mel B's daughter 'left feeling distraught' after her domestic violence campaign

Mel B’s ex-husband says their nine-year-old daughter Madison is ‘upset and distraught’ after watching her domestic violence campaign.

Stephen Belafatone says the youngster has been impacted by her mum’s decision to take part in the short film.

The Spice Girl appeared in a powerful four-minute video about domestic abuse to shed light on the World Health Organisation’s findings that one in three women around the world are subjected to physical or sexual violence by a partner.

The producer alleges the girl ‘started crying’ after discovering Mel in the harrowing short flick.

He noted in court documents, obtained by TMZ, that the recording was so traumatising Madison now ‘doesn’t want to see her at all or travel to be with her this summer’.

Mel’s reps declined the opportunity to comment when approached.

But it hasn’t stopped a judge approving the singer’s request for her daughter ‘to travel alone’ as they remain locked in a bitter custody battle since their split in 2017.

The 45-year-old can be seen being strangled, beaten, and showing an array of horrific bruises and cuts on her face as she fights to get away from her abuser in the powerful clip.

Mel previously accused her former husband of ’emotional and physical abuse’ during their ten years together.

It comes after Mel revealed she contemplated taking her own life during her marriage to Stephen.

“I tried to leave seven times, so you can imagine how desperate I was in those 10 years,” the singing star told the Guardian in a candid interview last week.

“I didn’t have anywhere to go, I didn’t have my own credit card, I didn’t have a car.

“I’ve got three kids, I was very on the edge of self-destruction.

When asked how close she came to ending her life, Mel said: “I self-medicated. I tried everything but trying to end it all, because that to me would mean he would win.”

Days before a trial relating to the allegations of domestic violence was due to start in 2017, Mel and Stephen reached a private out-of-court settlement.

Stephen denied allegations of abuse and claimed Mel was addicted to cocaine and alcohol.
