Louise Minchin hosted her final BBC Breakfast show on Wednesday with her co-presenters from the past and present bidding her farewell.
The long-serving BBC Breakfast host was surprised with a video showcasing highlights from her career.
In the video, it featured sweet messages from her work colleagues, family and friends and those who she interviewed over the years.
Louise’s co-host Naga Munchetty was one of those who said farewell to the TV presenter.
In the special video, Naga said: “Louise, your strength, your determination, your utter brilliance as a triathlete and woman.
“I think you’re brilliant and I think you’re going to carry on being brilliant away from here.”
Elsewhere, co-host and Strictly star Dan Walker also paid to tribute to Louise by wearing an all-in-one swimsuit as he was about to go swimming in the Salford Quays.
Dan could be seen putting on a floral yellow swimming cap before saying: “I would only do this for you. I’m off to do triathlon stuff.”
In the video message, Dan could be seen getting into the water before finishing his best wishes and continued: “Keep being brilliant and keep reminding yourself the whatever it is, you can do it. Go Minchin!”
However, it wasn’t just Louise’s current co-hosts who wished her the best of luck for the future.
The 53-year-old journalist was sent a surprise video message from her former colleague Jon Sopel.
He said: “Minchin I can’t believe you’re leaving.
“After all those years together on News 24, News Channel and I think once even News 25.
“You’ve been fantastic and you will be sorely missed. I send you lots and lots of love. Goodbye.”
Meanwhile, in a video cycling along, Charlie Stayt also sent well wishes to the star.
“I hope you have the most fantastic morning this morning. It has been an absolute joy doing BBC Breakfast with you.”
He later continued: “Good luck,” before falling off his bike.
During Louise’s final show on BBC Breakfast she was sitting outside the studio alongside regular co-host Dan.
Later on in the programme she was joined by family and friends who made appearances throughout including her husband, dad, Sally Nugent and Matt Taylor.
It comes as Louise, who has been part of the BBC Breakfast team since 2016, admitted she wouldn’t miss the early morning alarm going off.
She explained her decision to leave the flagship show to the Mirror Online: “This has been a decision a long time in coming.
“It involved lots of in-depth discussion with friends and family.
“My children are pleased for us as a family, I think, because I always used to say to them, ‘Oh, do you remember before I did BBC Breakfast?’”
She continued: “And they’d say, ‘Not really.’ And then I realised that, actually, my daughters are 20 and 17, so of course they don’t remember life before BBC Breakfast.
“I’ve not taken my daughters to school every single day for their schooling life, so I am looking forward to school runs.
“And I’m really looking forward to things like those Sunday night dramas, which I’d love to be watching but haven’t been because I need to go to bed.”
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays on BBC One at 6am.
