Naga Munchetty takes swipe at BBC Radio 5 Live boss as she mocks her Christmas plans

Naga Munchetty took a cheeky swipe at her boss during her latest radio show as conversation turned to Christmas games.

The 46-year-old BBC Breakfast presenter was back on the airwaves on Wednesday morning to present her Radio 5 Live show.

She kicked off the programme by opening up about festive activities with loved ones.

Naga asked her listeners: “Who organises the Christmas fun for your family? Does it work? Or is it a disaster?”

The broadcaster continued: “Does someone also have to step up and make things happen or is organised fun a contradiction in terms.

“You may have heard me and Adrian [Chiles] talk about this earlier. I do find it a bit forced.

“I do throw myself into it but I find those first few minutes of ‘yeah let’s play’ and not being too competitive when it comes to the games a bit tricky.”

She went on to reveal her editor plans the festive games for her friends and family.

“My editor forces everyone who comes round to have 10 names for her head name game or whatever it is and I can just see it.

“She organises us very well but organising the fun? Not so sure.”

It comes after Naga was left fuming on Friday morning as she made a major Strictly Come Dancing blunder while hosting BBC Breakfast.

As the show finished up a segment about the BBC dancing show, Naga couldn’t quite seem to get her words out.

Naga said of Strictly: “That programme has opened up so many possibilities and so many different combinations of dancers, making it so much more accessible.

“Of course, cr-cr-Strictly! Can’t get my words out!” she told Charlie.

He told her calmly: “Try it again.”

But as Naga began her sentence over again, Charlie interrupted her to say: “We’ve got plenty of time, just take your time” – time enough, it seemed, for Naga to give him a withering look.

A giggle could be heard in the background as Naga went on: “The Strictly Come Dancing final is this Saturday at 7pm.”

And Charlie explained: “If you can hear someone giggling there, it’s Owain [Wyn Evans] over there.”

He went on to warn the weatherman: “You need to make sure you’re word perfect, Owain, in just a moment when we come to you!”

Owain fired back: “Has that ever happened?”

Deciding to reassure Owain, Naga jumped in: “It happens to us all! I’m going to save you with a gorgeous image, save your words!”

After Owain finished his segment, he said: “”I’m going to say 10 out of 10 for listening to the weather forecast.”

But Naga wasn’t satisfied, as she said: “Do you know what? It’s too late, Owain.”
