Neil Buchanan unrecognisable in snap taken 31 years on from Art Attack debut

Neil Buchanan looks nothing like his former self in recent pictures.

The 65-year-old appeared rather suave as he posed for the camera wearing a stylish and on-trend leather jacket that was teamed with a white t-shirt.

His hair boasted streaks of natural grey and he has since opted for a nicely trimmed beard to complete his rockstar image.

Folding his arms and barely raising a smile, it’s safe to say the TV veteran seemed nothing like his former overly happily self.

Back in the 90s, Neil’s ITV programme became the go-to show to pop on for creative kids after school.

Kids across the nation would tune in for wacky and crafty ideas to try at home with their own parents.

The creative show was so successful that it remained on the broadcasting giant for a whopping 17 years – with Neil also scooping up a BAFTA TV Award in 1993.

However, all good things must come to an end and in 2007, presenter Neil decided to put down his PVA glue and iconic red sweatshirt to follow his musical dream.

The TV presenter, who is native to Liverpool, loves nothing more than kicking it with his heavy metal band, Marseille.

Last year, Neil hit the headlines for a very different reason that was not associated with his TV or music career.

Rumours began to swirl on Twitter that the former children’s presenter had been keeping a huge secret – bigger than the Stig from Top Gear.

According to a tweet online which ended up going viral, Neil was thought to be the mastermind behind the street art belonging to the unknown artist Banksy.

The conspiracy theory began to do the rounds on the internet in September 2020 which eventually saw Neil respond and shoot down rumours that he was associated.

The statement on his website read: “We have been inundated with enquiries over the weekend regarding the current social media story.

“Unfortunately this website does not have the infrastructure to answer all these enquiries individually, however, we can confirm that there is no truth in the rumour whatsoever.”
