Richard Ramirez terrorised the Los Angeles area for a whole year between 1984 and 1985.
He would eventually be arrested and sentenced for his crimes which involved murders, attempted murders and sexual assaults of a number of people rating in age from six to 83.
The investigation and capture of Ramirez is the subject of new Netflix docuseries Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer.
In the series, Ramirez remains largely unnamed until the last episode, which shows how cops were finally able to arrest him. And they will never forget what they saw on that day.

The vile killer then carjacked a woman to try and escape, but was eventually captured by civilians who placed him in a citizens arrest until police arrived.
The civilians had beaten Ramirez, and he was bleeding from his head.
Officer Jim Kaiser was the officer who drove the vile killer to the station after he was arrested on August 31 1985, two years after his killing spree began.
When he arrived, the officer opened the car door, and Ramirez puked “green” vomit in the parking lot – and he likened it to the horror movie The Exorcist.
Speaking to the Orange County Record, he said: “It was green, like ‘The Exorcist’. This guy is really evil.”

The officer was referencing the 1973 movie where the devil pukes bright green vomit.
The officer was so disturbed by what he saw he tightened the suspect’s handcuffs all over again.
He added: “I didn’t know what he was capable of. I looked straight in the eye of absolute evil. He had cold, black eyes. He was the ultimate manifestation of absolute evil.”
While Ramirez was riding in the back of the car, he asked the officer to “put a bullet in my head”.

He reportedly added: “Let’s end it.”
