Actor Noel Clarke has hired a crack publicist dubbed “The Rottweiler” to help repair his reputation after sex harassment claims.
The ex-Doctor Who star has recruited Caroline McAteer – who once worked with the Beckhams – following allegations by 20 women that he groped, harassed or bullied them.
Clarke, 45, “vehemently” denies “any sexual misconduct or
criminal wrongdoing”.
But he said he was “deeply sorry” after realising that “some of my actions have affected people in ways I did not intend or realise”.
The Kidulthood creator has also hired lawyer Gideon Benaim, who specialises in “reputation protection for high profile individuals”.
Benaim has represented footballer Ryan Giggs, supermodel Naomi Campbell and cyclist Lance Armstrong.
He and McAteer are expert at handling cases in which celebrities have attracted negative headlines.
According to magazine PR Week, McAteer earned the nickname The Rottweiler while working for David and Victoria Beckham.
She helped them develop and protect their image at a time when their fame was at its height.
Last year she co-founded the celebrity PR agency Cherry. Its bosses called it a “powerhouse” agency and listed “crisis management” among its services.
McAteer confirmed she was working with Clarke.

Actor Noel Clarke rose to fame in the cast of Doctor Who, before writing and starring in the film trilogy Kidulthood, Adulthood and Brotherhood.
More recently, he starred in the series Bulletproof as NCA Detective Inspector Aaron Bishop, which he also wrote and produced.
He was awarded the BAFTA for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema earlier this year, but the award was suspended in April in the wake of the allegations of sexual misconduct.
