Olly Murs praised as he gets off stage to check on girl having seizure at his gig

Dance With Me Tonight singer Olly Murs has been applauded by fans after he checked on a girl who had a seizure during his gig in the North East on Saturday.

In the past few weeks Olly, 37, has played at various venues across the UK and treated the locals in County Durham to some of his best hits.

But unfortunately as the singer entertained the crowd, one of his fans fell ill.

Being the great showman that he is, Olly took it upon himself to personally check on the unwell fan during his performance.

Taking to Twitter the young girl’s mum thanked the pop star for coming off the stage and assisting.

The mum wrote: “@ollymurs thank you for coming down off the stage to talk to my daughter after she had a seizure tonight. You really are so kind and you made her night xx.”

Olly retweeted the post and penned: “Oh god I hope she is ok!! Do send her my love x.”

Fans seemed to be impressed with the chart topper’s warm response and also praised him for his approach during the situation.

Taking to Twitter, one fan commented: “You have a heart of absolute gold and testament to why you’re still doing what you do best after 11 years.”

Another said: “This is the reason I love Olly Murs and Take That as they aren’t stuck up and they appreciate what they have achieved. Hope your daughter is OK and that was such a lovely thing to do.”

While a third penned: “Such an amazing guy, you truly are something special. The way you show care for your fans during a scary time just shows why you are loved so much and are still in the career you love.”

“How lovely for you to take time to talk to her. Such a kind thing to do x,” a fourth wrote.

Earlier, this month the former X Factor contestant also suffered another on stage accident of his own.

The injury took place 11 days after he had surgery for a fragment of bone that lodged itself in the back of his knee due to a jump he did while performing on stage.

While performing at Newbury Racecourse, the artist wore a leg brace and told fans he was trying to “take it easy”.

But as he sang his famous records, an over enthusiastic fan threw a bottle of suncream onto the stage, which appeared to splash on Olly.

After the gig, Olly too to Instagram Live and said: “The suncream was not a good idea half way through the gig.

“Thanks to the person who threw it at me, my eyes are still stinging from that.”

Wrapped Up singer Olly will be entertaining fans in Telford next, this will be followed by a gig in Bedford and then in Solihull, before finishing off in Kent.
