Our Yorkshire Farm fans fume as tonight’s show is pulled from Channel 5 schedule

Our Yorkshire Farm fans have been left fuming after the programme was pulled from tonight’s (June 1) schedule.

The feel-good show, which follows the life of farmer Amanda Owen and her family on their remote rural property, usually airs at 9pm each Tuesday – but was conspicuously missing from the Channel 5 schedule this week.

It will make way for Channel 5’s new series Anne Boleyn, which stars Jodie Turner-Smith as Henry VIII’s second wife.

But Channel 5 has not yet given an official reason for why the programme has been pulled – or whether it will continue to air.

Amanda Owen, who regularly keeps her social media followers updated on the goings-on at the farm, also has yet to comment.

Fans have been left baffled by the decision, as the latest series of Our Yorkshire Farm hasn’t yet finished.

It’s led to some confusion about whether the next episode to air will be a stand-alone special.

Many frustrated viewers took to Twitter to share their annoyance, with one writing: “Poor show by Channel 5 taking off next episode of Our Yorkshire Farm and replacing it with their new offering of Anne Boleyn.

“Why just burst into an ongoing series like this? Why fail to tell us when the next episode will be shown?”

Another ranted: “F***ing fuming at the piss poor way Channel 5 has treated Our Yorkshire Farm and its loyal fans tonight,” followed by several angry emojis.

While a third penned: “Our Yorkshire Farm is Channel 5’s most watched show. Perish the thought that the final episode has been postponed tonight in the hope that Channel 5 can hijack viewers for [Anne Boleyn]. Perhaps they think no-one will notice.”

Someone else wondered: “Channel 5 why have you cancelled Our Yorkshire Farm tonight? Bang out of order, The Owens are a beautiful family that thousands and thousands watch and look forward to!”

Anne Boleyn, which airs at 9pm on Tuesday, is a brand-new three-part miniseries, which will air its episodes back-to-back.

That could mean Our Yorkshire Farm could return next Tuesday, as Anne Boleyn should wrap by Thursday, June 3.

However, Yorkshire Live have reported that episode eight of series four will actually air later this year, as the Owen family tackle the ‘Beast from the East’ deep freeze during lockdown.

The move has led some fans to wonder if the large wait could actually signify series five airing sooner than expected.

We’ll have to just wait and see what Channel 5 announce – and fingers crossed it’s good news for fans!
