Owain Wyn Evans reveals BBC Breakfast behind the scenes secret as he dances in studio

BBC Breakfast weather presenter Owain Wyn Jones dished on a behind the scenes secret in the BBC Breakfast studio.

The Welsh weather star gave fans a peek inside the famous BBC set, which is based Manchester’s MediaCityUK, which is currently kitted out with Christmas decorations.

Owain and his colleague Katie got into the festive spirit by dancing up against the BBC Breakfast Christmas tree – with Owain pulling off a cheeky twerk against the tree.

The 37-year-old forecaster looked stylish as he donned an Emerald green suit with a paisley pocket square and an orange floral tie.

Taking to Instagram, Owain told fans that the BBC Breakfast Christmas tree – decorated with red and gold baubles – was actually powered by a motor and moves around.

Owain said: “Who knew the @bbcbreakfast Christmas tree is motorised? Well, nobody until this morning it would appear.

“I am not sure it has ever been danced against quite like this before but I think it enjoyed our performance @katiesaoirsebryson.”

He went on to thank fans for complimenting his outfit choice.

Owain added: “Thanks for the lovely outfit messages Emerald green suit with paisley pocket square, orange floral tie and amber glass brooch xx”

Owain’s fans wanted him to sign up to the Strictly ballroom after watching him move his hips.

One said: “After this they have to sign you up for Strictly next year!”

A second wrote: “Strictly next year?”

A third loved his look and added: “Definitely the best dressed man on TV, I always look forward to seeing what you are wearing.”

The Welsh star recently made Children in Need history after he completed the charity’s most successful 24 hour challenge ever.

The broadcaster, who also works on The One Show, managed to rack up a whopping £3million with his Drumathon.

Evans drummed for 24 hours, needing give minute breaks every hour for health and safety reasons.

He explained: “A lot of the time I wanted to carry on. But because I was getting injuries as time was passing, they needed to be managed,”

Chatting about breaking the record, he said at the time: “I’ve heard that something has been broken – I don’t know what, other than lots of drumsticks

“To hear that it’s raised that much… I’m speechless.”

Owain added: “Even when I did that first video in the April at the start of the first lockdown, I had no idea that was going to do what it did,

“I just thought that it might just make some people smile because it was a really terrifying time.
