Paddy McGuinness mocks Patsy Palmer's furious Good Morning Britain walk-off

Comedian and presenter Paddy McGuinness took a cheeky dig at EastEnders actress Patsy Palmer, 48, after she walked out of her Good Morning Britain chat minutes into the interview earlier this week.

The former Take Me Out host appeared on Good Morning Britain on Friday to talk to hosts Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins about his part in Red Nose Day 2021.

Paddy, 47, is presenting the first half of this evening’s TV charity coverage alongside The Masked Singer judge Davina McCall.

Kicking off his interview, Paddy referred to the banner on the screen which had been so contentious during Patsy’s interview.

Paddy said: “I am in a hotel at the minute and I am on phone which is just propped up but well done on the ‘Comedy genius Paddy McGuinness’ there.

“There’s no walking off here. I am going nowhere. I am going nowhere, I am her on money.”

Laughing he added: “This is what we want.”

On Wednesday Patsy was left enraged after Good Morning Britain bosses used the tagline ‘Addict to Wellness Guru’.

Patsy appeared on the show via video link from Malibu to talk about her new venture, however, it soon became apparent she was not happy.

As Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard asked her their first question the banner in front of her flashed up reading: “Patsy Palmer: Addict to Wellness Guru.”

The starlet looked visibly shocked leaned forward to read the post better but with the sound on mute Ben and Susanna were unable to hear what she said as they continued their question.

Patsy hit out: “Do you know what actually, I don’t even want to do this interview because I don’t want to look at what it says at the bottom of that screen.

“I am just going to switch off, do a real Piers Morgan and just say it’s not ok to have ‘addict to wellness guru’ on the bottom of the screen.

“You know, my issues that I had years ago that were talked about by me many years ago and it’s over. “

Interrupting, Ben tried to calm things by apologising.

“I’m so sorry about that Patsy, that really wasn’t our intention.”

Patsy them slammed down her laptop and ended the interview.

Later explaining her position via Instagram, Patsy said: “My apologies to anyone that wants to hear good news as I have great faith that considering what is going on in the world right now there are some people that do.

“I keep seeing people saying ‘Get over yourself’, I have gotten over my old self years ago and no longer wish to discuss it when I only have 5 minutes of air time.”

“I am not going to waste those previous five minutes talking about things that are 20 years old or about Meghan and Harry.

“I was supposed to be on there to talk about my new business that I have created and couldn’t be more opposed to that headline.”

GMB continues on Monday at 6am on ITV.
