Pantos are making a return… oh yes they are.
A host of shows will be staged this Christmas once virus restrictions are finally lifted.
And plenty of TV favourites have already signed up for starring roles. Shane Richie, 57, will be Dick Whittington, while Debbie McGee, 62, is pencilled in to be the Fairy Godmother.
Christopher Biggins, 72, is back as a dame.
Other household names lined up include Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood, 56, pop legend Jason Donovan, 52, and Dancing On Ice judge John Barrowman, 54.
Pantos are set to give the live entertainment industry a huge shot in the arm as theatres across the country have been closed for the past year.

They are likely to save many venues from closure because they are often the most lucrative shows of the year.
Leading West End producer Michael Harrison, who runs Qdos Panto-mimes, said: “We’ve all missed being in the theatre and can’t wait to get back to what we love – making people laugh.

Bosses at Qdos Pantomimes will stage more than 30 shows, including one at the London Palladium.
A spokesman said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming audiences back for Christmas 2021.”
Panto is a big pay day for celebrities. Comedian and actress Dawn French, 63, was said to have earned an estimated £220,000 for a stint in Snow White in 2018.
