Pat Hitchcock, who was the daughter of revered Hollywood director Alfred Hitchcock, has died at the age of 93.
An actress in her own right she also worked for her father in ‘Psycho,’ ‘Stage Fright’ and ‘Alfred Hitchcock Presents.’
Her youngest daughter, Katie Fiala, told the Hollywood Reporter her mother died on Monday (August 9) at her home in Thousand Oaks, California.
Pat Hitchcock’s mother, who was married to her father for 54 years, was the film editor/screenwriter Alma Revill.
Hitchcock’s most recognised role was in Strangers on a Train as Barbara Morton opposite Robert Walker as Bruno. She also appeared in Psycho as the office worker Caroline.

She was born in London in 1928 and knew she wanted to be an actress from an early age.
Despite moving to the US from England at the age of 10, Pat told the Post she was raised an English child.
“I was brought up rather as an English child, so I knew what was expected, and I pretty much always did it,” she said.

“You didn’t speak unless spoken to, but it didn’t bother me or have any repercussions. I didn’t know anything else.”
During a chat in 2004 for the TV Academy website The Interviews: An Oral History of Television, Pat discussed working with her father.
She said: “There wasn’t anything unusual about it. Just like with [any other actor], we would discuss the scene and do it. We didn’t try out stuff.”

The young actress married Joseph E. O’Connell in 1952 and they went on to have three children together.
Mary Alma Stone was born April 17, 1953, Teresa “Tere” Carrubba July 2, 1954, and Kathleen “Katie” Fiala on February 27, 1959.
Pat Hitchcock’s father Alfred is considered one of the greatest film makers that ever lived.
Known as the Master of Suspense his films included a plethora of masterpieces that are studied and admired to this day.
His best known works include North by Northwest, Psycho, The Birds, Vertigo and Rear Window.
