A petition to stop Katie Price from owning any further animals has now doubled in signatures.
The online document, which calls for the 43-year-old to be banned from owning pets for life, has now been signed more than 14,000 times after she gave up her daughter Princess’s puppy.
According to The Sun, the mum-of-five gave the French Bulldog, named Precious, to a member of staff who had worked on her recent mucky mansion show.
The publication shared an Instagram post from the proud new owner of Precious.
“One week of fatherhood, you’ve changed the game, you smelly, snoring, dobby-eared, adorable little pig,” wrote the pet owner along with a number of photos.
Katie decided to purchase Precious for her teen daughter Princess after her pooch Rolo had suffocated after being trapped under an armchair in a freak accident.
It isn’t the first time that the former glamour model has faced heartache when it comes to her animals.
In February last year, the reality TV star was left devastated after her Alsatian Sparkle escaped onto the road and was killed by a car.
Another tragedy occurred later and saw her dog Queenie face a similar fate to Sparkle after being run down by a Pizza delivery van.
After the sudden death of Rolo, one concerned animal lover decided to launch a petition to stop Katie from buying any further pets.
It read: “A puppy has died in the last 24 hours in Katie Price’s care, she bought this puppy for her 13-year-old child three weeks ago.”
They added: “In the last five years more animals have died from lack of care. Horses, dogs, cats, lizards, hedgehogs.
“This isn’t a single family tragedy. It’s a common thing in Katie Price’s home.”
PETA, an animal rights group, also agreed that Katie should not be allowed to “acquire” any further pets.
In a statement, PETA’s director, Elisa Allen, said to The Mirror: “Given her track record with animals, several of whom have died in her ‘care,’ it would be irresponsible and reckless for Katie to be allowed to acquire another one.”
Elisa warned: “And any breeder willing to sell to her is clearly putting profit over the animals’ welfare.”
