Piers Morgan accuses Prince Harry of 'showing a lack of compassion' to William

Piers Morgan has accused Prince Harry of showing a lack of “compassion” to his brother Prince William.

The controversial Good Morning Britain presenter took a pop at the Prince Harry – and his wife Meghan Markle – following their exclusive tell-all interview with US chat show giant Oprah Winfrey.

Harry and Meghan released an International Women’s Day checklist urging others to offer compassion.

But Piers branded them hypocrites for not following their own advice, angry about the timing of the interview, especially with news that poorly Prince Phillip had been transferred to St Bart’s hospital for further medical tests.

“Why don’t you start with yourselves?” slammed Piers. “Why don’t you Harry who’s never met your father-in-law, why don’t you get on a plane?

“It’s not far now you live an hour away. Get on a plane to Mexico and go and see Thomas Markle.

Piers Morgan criticised Prince Harry

“See how he is, show him a bit of compassion but you’ve disowned him haven’t you?

“What about showing compassion to your brother? Because your brother went through the same thing you did.

“I don’t see him [William] giving endless interviews about it and saying how tough his life is because your brother stayed here in the pandemic and has done a fantastic job frankly him and his wife and the other senior royals.

“That’s called duty. You get all the baubles, you get all the castles, the palaces, the servants, the trinkets, you get the first-class travel…”

“But they’ve given that up,” stressed Susanna. “They said that they don’t want the palaces, the baubles and the staff.”

“They’ve still got their royal titles Susanna,” hit back Piers. “Which is within the gift of the Queen and “I don’t see how you think you have more authority than the Queen in deciding whether they should keep their royal titles.”

“These two want to have their royal cake and eat it and that’s the central problem with this whole issue.

An animated Piers added: “It’s crass beyond belief come on we all know it is. I bet CBS won’t move it whatever happens.

“In fact, if something god forbid does happen with Prince Philip CBS will want to exploit it.

“No,” replied co-host Susanna Reid.

Susanna disagreed with Piers Morgan

But Piers wouldn’t budge on his strong stance and stressed: “Of course they will, they’re an American network they’ll want to exploit it for ratings.

“The question is what’s Prince Harry going to do in that situation if the Duke takes a turn for the worse?

“What’s he going to do? Is he going to allow his whining about what a tough life he’s had from his LA mansion to go out on prime-time television?”

A shocked Susanna responded: “I don’t think I would describe it as whining as you know.”

It’s not the first time Piers has criticised Harry and Meghan. He was recently accused of ‘constantly bashing’ the pair by Susanna.

Piers’ beef comes in the wake of an exclusive interview Prince Harry filed with James Corden.

Harry is seen taking afternoon on top of a double-decker bus, chatting candidly about the Royal family, admitting the Queen bought their son Archie a waffle-maker, before embarking on an army obstacle course with fellow Brit Corden.

But it is the Oprah With Meghan And Harry: A CBS Primetime Special which really ruffled Piers’ feathers.

GMB host Pier moaned: “It’s going to a be a two-hour whine-a-thon, even the two-second clip is a whine-a-thon about how tough his life is from a mansion in Santa Barbra in the middle of a global pandemic that’s killed two and a half million people.

“It will be fascinating to see how hard Oprah goes. Will she take the gloves off with them? And ask them some tough questions.”

“She said there were no areas out of bounds,” Susanna interjected.

“Quitting your country, quitting your families both of them,” Piers said. “She’s disowned all her family apart from one, he’s disowned most of his.

“At one point does the question have to be, you preach about compassion you two, you send out your little checklist for International Women’s Day.

“This is what this says this is the Archewell checklist, ‘This month unleash a ground swell of acts of compassion.”
