Piers Morgan has paid tribute to ‘great mate’ two years after his death.
Taking to Instagram to share a heartfelt message and throwback photo, the former Good Morning Britain anchor touched the hearts of his followers with the sweet tribute.
Posting a photo of himself with John Ferriter, the pair were with singing sensation Ariana Grande as they posed for a sweet snap.
Piers wrote a moving tribute to caption the photo, he wrote: “Two years today since I lost my great mate and manager John Ferriter. Thing I miss most about him is that he’d make fun stuff happen and fun stuff would always happen when he was around.
“This picture was taken four months before he died when we popped into Ocean Prime steakhouse in Beverly Hills, somewhere we’d never tried before, and ended up having a 4-hour drinking session with the world’s biggest pop star @arianagrande.”
He continued: “John and I laughed all the way home afterwards about what an insanely unexpected night it had been, but this kind of mad random incident happened in his company all the time. I miss that, and I miss him. Hope you’re having fun up there, Ferret.”
The tribute racked up over 30,000 likes and a flurry of comments from fans, as well as more tributes from people who knew John Ferriter.
One friend wrote: “He had so much fun that night with you @piersmorgan and @arianagrande – I miss him and the stories he would tell in great detail.”
A fan penned the comment: “He sounded such a laugh, I love those unexpected random nights out! Bless him, I can see why you miss him very much.”
Another said: “Sad for your loss of your friend, keep him with you with memories like this beautiful one and he will stay with you! Stay strong.”
While a third fan wrote: “Such an awful thing to lose such an important person, just treasure your precious memories.”
John Ferriter died on July 25 2019 from complications of pancreatitis.
This comes as the 56-year-old presenter opened up about how covid-19 almost decimated him and left him bed-bound for seven days.
Piers shared details of his covid ordeal and said that he was “flatlined’ in bed for a week with “debilitating fatigue” after catching the virus at Wembley during the Euro 2020 final against Italy.
Luckily Piers had had both of his vaccine jabs – something he believes saved his life.
