Piers Morgan has tried to dig up the past recently as he spoke about his on air walk off after being challenged by Alex Beresford.
While speaking to Australia’s Today, he seemingly attempts to passive aggressively put down Alex by referring to him as a: “deputy, stand in weather person.”
It was after Piers openly criticised Meghan Markle, claiming to not believe her as she spoke to Oprah about her mental health issues that Alex felt he had to say something about the way Piers handled the situation, leading to Piers leaving Good Morning Britain for good.
Piers said: “Most people think I never came back, I actually did come back a few minutes later and we had an interesting conversation.
“I don’t know if you have a deputy weather person… if you had a deputy stand in weather person suddenly letting you have it in a personal way, I suspect you wouldn’t like it either.”
After Piers left GMB their ratings have continued to plummet, losing around 1.2million viewers and now hitting a low of 450,000 viewers last week.
When speaking about the shows decrease in viewership Piers said: “I don’t take any pleasure in that.
“There’s been five years building up those ratings, ironically on the last day we beat the BBC which has always been my mission.”
After leaving the show, Piers continued to poke fun at Meghan.
In early May of this year Piers’ response to the news of Bill Gates’ divorce was to post a photo of Meghan thinking with the caption “So Bill Gates just got divorced?”
Followers of Piers have continued to try and get Piers to stop, with some fans saying “Get help Piers” in response to the tweet as they would prefer for Piers to let go of the supposed interest in Meghan’s personal life.
Other comments belittled Piers by saying “rent free”, indicating their belief that Piers often things of Meghan while she doesn’t think of him at all.
As GMB views continue to plummet, there’s discussion about the possibility of Piers ever returning to the role.
When asked, Piers said: “Who knows what may happen? The world is a strange thing, isn’t it?”
