Piers Morgan's son Spencer insinuates long Covid isn't real

Piers Morgan’s son Spencer has risked backlash after claiming not everyone who says they has long Covid does actually have it.

Tweeting to his 61,000 followers, Spencer said: “You haven’t got long Covid.

“You just feel like s*** cos you been locked up for a year and had all the good aspects of life taken away. [sic]”

The post was immediately met with a flurry of replied from fans who were divided over his comment.

One follower replied: “I’ve had long Covid for 4 months. I can assure you it’s real. There are over 1 million suffering with this now. It’s going to be a massive problem for the NHS.”

Another questioned: “So are you saying long covid does not exist?”

“Nope. My mum’s an avid runner and carried on exercising outdoors during lockdown- ever since she recovered from covid her times have gotten way slower and she gets puffed out way easier, and no matter how many runs she does she can’t get close to her time from 6 months ago,” a third hit back.

Meanwhile, a fourth chimed in: “You’re just being spiteful on the internet for the attention kiddo.

“I have a friend who has been absolutely been crippled by it. It’s absolutely a medical fact that covid 19 causes long term issues for some people. End of Story.”

Spencer’s dad Piers has spoken frankly about the dangers of the virus – with his former Good Morning Britain co-star Kate Garraway being all too aware about long Covid.

Her husband Derek Drapper was hospitalised with Covid in March 2020 and is still having around the clock medical attention due to the long term effects of the virus.

In her heartbreaking documentary Kate Garrway: Finding Derek, the ITV host explained how while he is now Covid free, the virus has caused havoc on his organs.

As well as causing kidney failure, he is also understood to have a hole in his heart.

Kate is facing the prospect that Derek may remain in hospital until the end of the year.

Even then chances are he will be in a wheelchair.
