Piers Morgan’s wife has laughed off claims he’s secretly in love with a pregnant ex-actress who complained about his telly rants – aka Meghan Markle.
The loudmouth’s journalist missus Celia Walden has also revealed the catty nickname she uses for the publicity-shy younger woman.
She calls her “Me-gain” in an apparent reference to allegations the 39-year-old is a social climber.
Piers, 55, last week threw an on-air wobbly during a row about the ex-Royal on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, storming off the show before quitting his job as host.
He’d refused to apologise for declaring he didn’t believe the woman’s allegation she suffered racism at the hands of the Royal family.
The shy and retiring mum-of-one – now expecting a daughter – was watched by millions as she shared the accusation during an interview with US chat show veteran Oprah Winfrey.
She responded to Piers’ disbelief across the pond by lodging official complaints against him with ITV and Britain’s broadcast watchdog Ofcom.
Celia, 45, mocked the “narrative that played out in some US coverage” that Piers threw his strop because he has spent years holding a candle for the woman.

Branding the rumour the “most comedic aspect” of the bust-up between her husband and the Californian, in her Telegraph column, Celia sneered: “Apparently Piers’ stance can be boiled down to his ‘unrequited love’ for Me-gain, ever since she contacted him in 2016 and, clearly thinking he could be of use to her, asked him out for a drink before ghosting him when she moved on to bigger and better things.”
After the drink, the woman left to go to a party where she met the equally privacy-hungry man who’s now her husband – Prince Harry.
Celia added she brushed off Piers’ 2016 invite to join him and the woman for a bevvy at their local as she’d wanted to stay home and binge watch Game Of Thrones.
The writer said she has spent the days after Piers’ flounced off GMB in a “whirlwind” of “social media hate” and “enormous public support”.
Celia added: “I watched in astonishment as cars slowed in the street to tell him they were ‘Team Piers’.
“I accepted flowers, beer, wine and a very large Bakewell tart on his behalf, as tokens of appreciation for ‘someone having the guts to say what we’re all thinking’.”
