Prince Harry has been wrongly praised for not using notes at Global Citizen’s Vax Live in Los Angeles, says Ross King.
The US based entertainment reporter explained to Ranvir Singh on Monday’s episode of Lorraine that the Duke of Sussex did in fact rely on a large teleprompter to remember his speech.
While Ross insisted there is nothing unusual about using a teleprompter to make a public speech, he was keen to explain that Harry’s lack of physical notes didn’t mean he didn’t have a helping hand.
Speaking via video link from LA after leaving the show, Ross said: “He [Harry] spoke very well.
“I saw some praise for him not using notes, well he did have a big teleprompter and an autocue but that is ok as he had a lot to say.”
Ross added: “He got a great reception and thanked the frontline workers.”
Talking about the event in general, he added: “Everyone was wearing a mask, everyone had been vaccinated and there were temperature checks.
“Even the day before I was given a PCR test even though I am vaccinated.
“It really was an amazing time it was a great concert.”
Giving her take on the evening, Ravir added: “It is interesting to see them [Harry and Meghan] in this new guise.”
Since moving to LA, the controversial couple have placed themselves into the world of celebrity.
Not only have they set up home in Montecito, California popular with the rich and famous, but they have also signed lucrative business deals.
The couple have teamed up with Netflix and Spotify to front a string of new shows and podcasts.
Taking to Twitter to talk about Harry’s appearance, one fan wrote: “One takeaway from the #VaxLive is Prince Harry’s growth.
“The speech, no notes. He has the resources and used them to better himself as a leader. Him and Meghan make an amazing team.”
Another added: “Duke of Sussex is winning!
“It is great how the crowd is showing Prince Harry all that love.”
A third chimed in: “So much love shown to Prince Harry at the #vaxlive!
“Standing ovation!!! Your loss Britain! People all over the world love him. You can never put a good man down?”
