R Kelly has been accused of allegedly sexually abusing a teenage boy after they met in a McDonald’s in 2006.
The singer – real name Robert Kelly – is currently in jail waiting for his August trial, in which he is faced with sex abuse and racketeering charges.
Prosecutors in the US filed new allegations against the 54-year-old on Friday in the ongoing case, and want a jury to hear from more than 10 other people who have also made claims that R Kelly sexually or physically abused, threatened or mistreated them.
In one of the fresh allegations, the singer is said to have had sexual contact with a 17-year-old boy in 2006 after they met at the fast food restaurant and he invited him back to his studio in Chicago.
According to the claims, the teenager was an aspiring musician and Kelly reportedly offered him help with his career, before he allegedly propositioned him and had sexual contact with him, while he was underage.
The filing alleges that the same teenager introduced R Kelly to another teen boy – 16 or 17 years old – who he began a relationship with several years later.
R Kelly has denied the allegations, but his lawyers are yet to address the new claims.
According to prosecutors, these two new accounts show that the crimes which R Kelly is accused of “were not isolated events and were part of a larger pattern”.
The star arrested in 2019 and is being held without bond at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago, where he is also facing accusations of sexual exploitation of children.
He has pleaded not guilty to a number of charges in Illinois, New York and Minnesota.
The musician is accused of running a ring of managers, bodyguards and other individuals who are alleged to have helped him find women and girls to take part in sex and pornography, while he controlled them.
The case is set to open at trial on August 18, while a jury will be selected on August 9 in New York.
Daily Star has contacted lawyers representing R Kelly for comment.
