Chart-topping rapper and popular Youtuber KSI has tested positive with Covid-19 despite bragging that he would never catch the virus 38 hours prior.
The 28-year-old, whose real name is Olajide Olayinka Williams JJ Olatunji, took to his social media platform to share images of two positive lateral flow tests.
Alongside the images, he captioned the posts “mad ting”.
KSI’s diagnosis comes 38 hours after he took to Twitter to tell his legions of fans that he would never have coronavirus.
On December 14 the Youtuber posted on his socials: “On a real though, how have I never had covid?”, followed by “I will never get covid” six minutes later.
Since then KSI has updated his fans on his experiences of having the virus, as well as promoting his YouTube group Sidemen’s new vodka.
In a recorded message on his page that he posted online, he said: “Ayo covid relax! You ain’t have to beat me up like this man!
“At the end of 2021, man was almost there. Man almost came through without getting covid, and I jinxed it!” He exclaimed.
He also took to Twitter again and said: “Yeah this covid thing, ain’t no joke. 2021 Final boss-type s**t.”
Commenting under his post fans shared their thoughts on his shocking news, including YouTuber Callux who said: “I day later LOOOOOOOOOOL.”
He added: “I will never get £100m in my bank account tomorrow.”
Another follower said: “The thing is, he definitely had covid when posting that tweet yesterday saying he never had it.”
Meanwhile a third wrote: “Well done. You played yourself… Get well soon but at least now we may get a couple YT vids”.
KSI did respond to some of his followers online and told them he was doing fine, but he later sent another update informing them that the medication he was on started to wear off.
The UK has currently been suffering with a new wave of coronavirus and according to reports the UK daily Omicron cases have almost doubled bringing total to 14,909.
On Friday, there were an additional 3,201 confirmed cases today, reports the UK Health Security Agency and nearly twice the number of infections announced yesterday (yesterday it was 1,691).
