Robbie Williams says bitter feud with the Gallaghers 'drove him out of Britain'

Robbie Williams has revealed he still thinks about the nasty comments Liam and Noel Gallagher said about him during the 90s.

The Rock DJ superstar famously clashed with the Oasis rockers during the hight of their fame.

The lads’ often exchanged fiery insults – with Robbie even challenging them to a fight on stage at the BRIT Awards in 2000.

Now Robbie says he still thinks about the comments from time to time.

Robbie, 47, said: “My brand of entertainment wasn’t deemed worthy because of how I presented myself.

“There was a culture of ‘Robbie Williams is not cool’. That was apart from the three million people who bought my albums.

“Every time I watched TV programmes, there were people being hateful about me.

“That was just wrong and grotesque. It was unbearable. I just left the country.”

Recalling the most hurtful comments, Robbie added on the Talent Takes Practice podcast: “Liam said that I should be hung, Noel said I was ‘the fat dancer from Take That’.

“I remember every single syllable of every single thing they’ve ever said about me.”

The dad-of-four added: “I could talk for two hours about why Noel’s s***.

“Isn’t it interesting what a few words can do to your whole life? I’m not healed.”

Last month Daily Star revealed how Robbie is back to full health after contracting Covid over the festive period.

Robbie tested positive for the virus while on holiday in St Barts in the Caribbean in January.

Robbie, who is understood to have spent 14 days isolating in a £15,000-a-night villa in the idyllic hotspot, said: “All is good. I’m fine.

“I’m good. I was good and I will be good.”

Insisting he was never as ill as reports claimed, the Love My Life singer added: “Mild. Mild. Mild. I’m doing at least 10,000 steps a day.”

A source said: “Robbie is now feeling better than ever.

“He has a treadmill set up in front of a TV where he is staying so he can get back to full health safely.”

The star is currently preparing to release a new dance album.

The record was primarily recorded last year and features a duet with pint-sized pop princess Kylie Minogue.

The track is the first time Robbie and Kylie have worked together since their single Kids in 2000.
