Ruth Langsford's glam makeover as she and Eamonn 'go missing' from This Morning

Ruth Langsford has shared the stunning results after treating herself to a day of pampering.

The This Morning host, 60, headed to the salon after they were finally able to open their doors again yesterday.

Ruth shared a boomerang from the chair where a masked-up hairdresser gave her a blow-dry, and another in which she proudly shook her newly highlighted blonde ‘do.

“Nails & highlights in one day….I’m SO happy!!” she wrote.

“Got my blonde back on!!”

Ruth’s been responsible for her own hair and make-up for all her TV appearances during lockdown.

And This Morning fans have been missing her and husband/co-host Eamonn Holmes after their week on the show drew to a close.

The pair filled in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield during the half-term break, viewers delighted to see them back.

Ruth and Eamonn had presented the Friday slot until earlier this year, when it was filled instead by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

Alison and Dermot have returned to hosting duties this morning as Holly and Phil remain away, the pair hitting up the pub beside ITV’s studios for a Baileys and a pint.

The presenting colleagues soaked up the glorious sunshine as they spoke to the cameras from the pub’s garden, excited Alison crying: “This is like our first jolly!”

Fans were left disappointed by the change, as one wrote: “So disappointed not to see Ruth and Eamonn this morning – would have been so appropriate for them to continue where they left off on Friday – the programme would be enhanced and the reputation of This Morning elevated by their presence.”

Another added: “Bring Back Eamonn & Ruth Please.”

However, ITV confirmed that the couple were only ever scheduled to present the first week of half term.

Today’s show was dedicated to another step toward freedom for many Britons, Dermot urging: “If you’re half-tanked get in touch.”

Non-essential shops, hairdressers and gyms have opened up once again, while pubs, bars and restaurants have returned to outdoor-only service.

May 17 will mark the beginning of Step Three, meaning pubs will be open again indoors.

June 21, the government says, will be the date that all restrictions are finally lifted.

*This Morning continues on weekdays from 10am to 12.30pm on ITV.
