Saira Khan makes another dig at 'tolerating' Loose Women co-stars after ITV exit

Saira Khan has shared yet another thinly veiled dig at her former Loose Women co-stars, again saying that she “tolerated” them.

The former Apprentice star quit the ITV show after five years earlier this month, saying she had “nothing left to share”, so now was the time to “bow out”.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the 50-year-old shared an image of a written quote, as well as a lengthy caption in which she explained herself more.

The quote read: “You make friends with some people, you tolerate some people, and some people you are just there to do the job with – Saira Khan.”

In the caption, Saira said she was “really proud” of how she shared how she was feeling, saying it “sums up a lot of [her] workplace experiences”.

She added: “I’m absolutely under no illusion that people have had to tolerate me, I get that and I understand it. I’m not everyone’s cuppa tea.”

The television star said she wasn’t trying to please everyone or to be liked by everyone, saying: “I’m not for the masses, I’m for a very niche tribe who get me.”

Saira then turned to women she had worked with – though did not name anyone or suggest any particular person she was talking about.

“As a feminist, one of the hardest things I’ve witnessed in the workplace is seeing other women behave in a manner which goes out to undermine other women, use them and make them feel inadequate,” she said. “Not all women understand the principles of feminism.”

At the dawn of the New Year, Saira wrote in her Mirror column that she’d decided to leave Loose Women behind after five years.

“It was a difficult decision, but when you feel there is nothing left to share on a show that is all about sharing, it’s time to bow out,” she said.

But since then, it seems her relationships with her now former co-stars have soured – if there were any there to begin with.

Speaking to new! magazine she said there were “a few other women” on the show who’ve “had their time”, so should leave too.

Again, she didn’t name anyone in particular, but did call for a refresher on the team.

And as for her replacement, Saira called for bosses to bring in a “gay, transgender or non-binary” panellist.

Saira first shared the quote on Instagram on the Celebrity Skin Talk podcast, telling host Scott McGlynn who she’d stay in touch with from Loose Women.

She said: “There are some I will be close to because we get each other.

“And there are some I won’t miss at all who I was just like, ‘I just have to tolerate you to do the job.'”
